Pre-College
Program
Scholarship

In 2010, a new program was started awarding George London Foundation Pre-College Scholarships to deserving high school students in the Juilliard Pre-College program. The program offers a comprehensive conservatory-style music program for students 8–18 years old who exhibit the talent, potential and ambition to pursue serious music study at the college level. Students work with world-class faculty—many of whom are on the Juilliard college faculty—to develop technical proficiency while fostering creativity and intellectual curiosity.

Each fall representatives from the George and Nora London Foundation are invited to hear the high school students who are attending the pre-college voice program. Selected students receive scholarships from the Foundation based on their talent as well as individual need.

Every year the foundation awards between $7,000 to $12,000 to 5-7 singers. Students are also invited to attend the foundation’s competition finals and concerts. The Foundation representatives are invited back in the spring to hear a concert of opera scenes in which the students participate.
